OTHER INTRODUCTORY VERBS  IN REPORTED SPEECH:

Apart from "say, tell, suggest...." there are other verbs we can use, specially in statements.

 1) Go to your book, page 132, on the left and read "REPORTING VERBS WITH OTHER STRUCTURES"

2) As you can see,

a)  there are vebs followed by infitive;

He promised:" I will go!"------- He promised to go

b) There are verbs followed by gerund :

He said: "I didn't comit the crime" -------He denied having comitted the crime

c) There are verbs followed by object + infinitive

The judge said: "you should tell the truth. Bob!" ------- He adivised Bob to tell the truth
